"Knowledgeable, caring and highly professional. The team at Green Podiatry helped me with a long-standing foot problem that I thought I'd have to live with. I'm so pleased with the results and the quality of care I received."

Podiatrists are university degree-qualified healthcare professionals with specialist training in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of foot and lower limb problems.

At Green Podiatry and Chiropody, we provide treatment for a wide range of conditions, from common concerns such as corns, hard skin, cracked heels, verrucae, and painful or problematic nails, through to more complex foot and ankle problems.

Today, there is very little difference between podiatry and chiropody in day-to-day practice. “Chiropodist” is the traditional term, while “Podiatrist” is the modern title used by degree-qualified foot health professionals.

Some practitioners who originally trained as chiropodists may not have received training in areas such as local anaesthetic administration, biomechanics, or musculoskeletal assessment. However, both podiatrists and chiropodists provide professional foot care and help patients maintain healthy, comfortable feet.

Podiatrists are often the first healthcare professional to see for any foot-related problem.

We assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of nail conditions, including thickened, discoloured, fungal, ingrowing, infected, and painful nails. We also treat common skin conditions such as corns, hard skin, verrucae, and cracked heels.

At Green Podiatry, we use the latest technology, including pressure plate analysis and shockwave therapy, to assess, diagnose, and treat foot and ankle pain.

Yes, we provide careful, preventative foot care for patients with diabetes. Regular podiatry visits can help reduce the risk of complications and keep your feet healthy. You can view more information here.

Our podiatrists are highly experienced and always aim to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. We regularly help patients who feel anxious about foot treatment and take the time to ensure you feel at ease throughout your appointment.

Most treatments are surprisingly comfortable, and in many cases you can return to your normal daily activities immediately afterwards.

No. You can book directly by telephone, email, or through our online booking system.

While we frequently receive referrals from GPs, physiotherapists, sports coaches, and other healthcare professionals, a referral is not required to make an appointment.

Please bring an up-to-date list of any medications you are taking, along with any relevant scans, imaging reports, or test results.

If you are attending for foot, ankle, or lower limb pain, we recommend wearing or bringing a pair of shorts and bringing two or three pairs of shoes that you wear regularly. If you currently use orthotics or insoles, please bring these with you as well.

You are welcome to bring a friend, relative, or chaperone to your appointment. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone’s feet and needs are different, so we tailor treatment to you.

For routine footcare, many people choose regular appointments because they find it difficult or simply don’t want the worry of managing it themselves. These appointments are often every 6 to 12 weeks, depending on your needs and preferences.

If you’re being treated for foot pain or a specific condition, the frequency will depend on the cause and how your feet respond. Some issues improve quickly, while others need a more comprehensive approach.

We’ll always discuss the best treatment plan with you, working together to find an approach that suits you and your feet.
